I met a young woman who had been traveling around the world on her own. After months of travel, she was tired and ready to go home. We met at the airport, and we talked about our love of traveling the world while we waited for our flight.
When we heard the announcement that our flight was about to board, we began gathering our things.
Panic! Where’s My Ticket?
Suddenly, my new friend was in a panic. She could not find her boarding pass! She rifled through her purse, her bag, every pocket. But she couldn’t find it.
People around her helped her as she unloaded everything in her backpack. One kind gentleman even went to the ticket counter to plead her case, but the agent could not bend the rules.
Accepting Her Fate
In despair, she finally thanked us all and accepted the fact that she wasn’t going to be able to board the plane and would need to figure out plan B.
She decided to make a quick trip to the restroom. Perhaps the short walk would clear her head. She asked us to watch her stuff while she went.
When she stood up she saw that the whole time, she had been sitting on her plane ticket!
How Are We Blocking Our Good?
That got me to thinking… In so many ways we are each sitting on our own Good while we search and bemoan that we don’t have it.
Sometimes we just need to get up off of our duff to take action, and we just may discover that our Good was right there all along.
A Travel Agent for Your Life
As a Transformational Life Coach, I love helping my clients discover the Good they may have been sitting on – their own personal inner Masterpiece – and guide them in the steps to move in that direction. Kind of like a travel agent helping you find the best hot spots to visit, the best deals and the ways to get the most out of the journey called your life.
I’m not saying it’s as easy as finding your ticket under your bum. But as with anything worthwhile, practice, practice, practice, makes the dream a reality.
